Week 2 in the Books

What a fantastic two weeks it has been - they have flown by! I am having the time of my life in Belize.

I have met so many amazing people that have truly inspired me and I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity for the experience.

In the mornings I teach at a local school on the island, Isla Bonita and I have learned so much about what education is like outside of the US there. Isla Bonita Elementary has a little over 100 students and goes from pre-k to standard 6 (8th grade). I pull several children from their class and we work on specific skills that will help them with the content they are learning in class. The children there are adorable, loving, and make me feel like I'm a rockstar. They are definitely a great way to start the day!

In the afternoons, I travel to two different homes and teach there. This is the first time I have ever had the opportunity to teach in homes and it has been amazing. I have really enjoyed getting to know the families of my students. It adds such a personal level to learning and I love it.

Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better beginning and I can't wait for whats to come!
